The Latest News From Urban Community Outreach:

The Employees Community Fund of Boeing California have made a grant contribution of $3,000 to the Urban Community Outreach Drop-In-Center in Long Beach, CA. The check was presented by Boeing Employee, Cheryl Doorbar, to Executive Director, Arlene Mercer, and Board Members, Doug Emslie and Larry Forester on November 9, 2014.

UCO DIC is so happy to receive this support! It will help us in our work to prevent homelessness and lift those who have fallen into homelessness out of that black hole of despair.

UCO's Mission Statement
Our mission: To advance the interests and to promote the welfare of children, the economically disadvantaged and homeless people in the downtown Long Beach area.
Our Vision: To serve homeless people and those in need by the provision of temporary refuge, food; and empowering those with a desire to stabilize and improve their lives.

The Drop-In-Center is a community center for homeless people and those in need in downtown Long Beach. Providing a nutritious meal, a 16 station computer lab and a haven from the streets on Sunday afternoons.
