EXPANDING PLANS FOR THE DROP IN CENTER

New Strategic Planning

Dear supporters, volunteers and friends,

Urban Community Outreach has embarked on an exciting new Strategic Planning program which include expanding plans for the Drop In Center. Our heartfelt thanks to Brad Lara-Gagne for his service, and with much regret we announce his departure.

All programming and community partnerships will continue without interruption. Please join us in wishing Brad well in his future endeavors, and should you have any questions, please feel free to call your board member at 562-582-1000 or contact the UCO board chair, listed below.

Mission: To advance the interests and to promote the welfare of children, the economically disadvantaged and homeless people in the downtown Long Beach area.

 

We have two programs that advance this mission: the Drop-in-Center and DAYS. Read more about them below:

Drop-In-Center

Vision: To serve homeless people and those in need by the provision of temporary refuge, food; and empowering those with a desire to stabilize and improve their lives.

The Drop-In-Center is a community center for homeless people and those in need in downtown Long Beach. Providing a nutricious meal, a 16 station computer lab and a haven from the streets on Sunday afternoons.

Downtown Associated Youth Services

Vision: The Downtown Associated Youth Service (DAYS) Committee believes that all children and youth ought to have access to inspiring programs offered in a safe space that create strong relationships and awaken the imagination.

DAYS summer camp is offered free-of-charge to children and youth in Long Beach. Please visit the DAYS program page for more information.
